Jamdani is one of India’s GI-tagged handloom traditions, originating in Bengal and recognised by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The technique involves weaving extra weft threads by hand directly into the fabric to create motifs as part of the cloth itself, not printed or embroidered on top. A Jamdani cotton dress is not decorated with a design. It is woven as a design.

Our eco-printed cotton dresses use botanical printing methods in which plant materials including leaves, flowers, and bark are pressed directly onto fabric and fixed with natural mordants to transfer their colour and form. The prints are not uniform. Each one is the result of a specific plant on a specific day, producing the kind of variation and organic character that cannot be designed and cannot be faked.
